OMG! 😱😬
Which in this case, stands for:
Oh… My… Google!
Yup, that’s right, Google has done it again!
“What did Google do?”, you may ask.
Valid question.
Well, we’re about to fill you in!

In case you missed it, Google announced some massive changes coming to Google Ads at the #GoogleMarketingLive 2019 event.
We’re going to chat a bit more about the changes we are most excited about.
We’re saving you some time – roughly 2-hours of talks – to give you the low down on what new features and/or products you can expect to roll out in the not so distant future.
And they go a little something like this:
- Discovery Ads
Reach thousands of new customers with Discovery Ads. Discovery Ads will use audience targeting (based on intent and not keywords) and appear in places like Google Newsfeed, YouTube Newsfeed and Gmail. These ads will be in swipeable image carousel format.
- Gallery Ads
Get Visual in Search. Google Search becomes more visual and interactive with Gallery Ads. These image ads sit at the top of the search results page and are also in the carousel format.
- Smarter Bidding
Get Smarter with Bidding based on your goals – As Google pushes their Smart Bidding Strategies more and more, there has been concern that the feature requires better optimisation. Google has obliged with 3 ways to optimize Smart bidding:
- Choose conversion actions at campaign level
- Create a conversion action set to share across multi campaigns
- Set rules to adjust conversion values based on audience type & tweak bids by value
- YouTube Bumper Ads
Let Google build your Video Ads – Introducing the bumper machine, which is a handy new tool that can turn any video shorter than 90 seconds into a collection of YouTube-ready bumper ads. For those who might be thinking “What the Google is a Bumper Ad?” these are those 6 sec non-skippable ads you see on YouTube.
- Audience Expansion Tool
Find New Customers – Finding one of your custom audiences working particularly well? Well, now you can use the brand new audience expansion tool to reach consumers who look and behave similarly to the people within that custom audience.
- Google Shopping Just Got Better
Shop within your Google Interface – Shop ‘till ya drop with Google Shopping. Online shoppers can now purchase directly within the Shopping interface, there is still the option to click through to the website of the product.
- Local Campaigns
Get more customers to your brick-and-mortar store – Local campaigns promotes your brick-and-mortar store across Search, Display, Maps, and YouTube— this has been available to some advertisers, it is now being rolled out to all customers
So if you didn’t know, now you know! 😉
You’re welcome.
